Programs

The MIAAP creates programs and services to meet the needs of our members and patients. Programs can fall into two categories:

  1. Pediatric Foundation grant funded programs such as Assuring Better Child Development (ABCD).
  2. Member service programs operated through the MIAAP.  Currently the MIAAP is working to create new initiatives to support our strategic priorities.

ABCD

Assuring Better Child Development is a national initiative to promote the utilization of evidence-based developmental screening in pediatric practices to screen and assess every child for developmental delays or special health care needs. The Pediatric Foundation of Michigan has received a grant from the Michigan Department of Community Health to train and support pediatric practices to implement developmental screening and make referrals to community and medical services for children who have demonstrated or are at risk of delays. To receive information about ABCD training in Michigan, please contact the MIAAP office at 517-484-3013 or .

Electric Health Records

Learn How to Access Federal EHR Grant Money and Technical Assistance

Electronic Health Records will be a part of every medical practice’s future. To comply with upcoming health care regulations, your practice will have to implement an Electronic Health Record (EHR) process within the next few years.
Your practice could benefit from assistance based upon your Medicaid patient population, MI Child and the uninsured you are serving.

  • The federal government is offering both financial and technical assistance to help pediatricians implement EHR systems.

  • YOU MUST ACT NOW. There are only a limited number of spots in the Michigan grant program.

  • Learn how YOU can take advantage of this offer to underwrite your EHR implementation at an informational session sponsored by the MIAAP, the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians and the Michigan Center for Effective Information Technology Adoption (M-CEITA)

  • M-CEITA is a consortium of 16 MI based health care organizations

  • A provider advocate whose services are intended to facilitate EHR adoption by Priority Primary Care Providers (PPCPs)

  • Designed as full service for providers who don’t have the time, expertise, or staffing to select the right EHR, adjust their processes to fully leverage the tool, or make sure they are Meaningfully Using it.

  • M-CEITA is designated by Office National Coordinator (ONC) to help providers achieve Meaningful Use (MU) of EHRs.
