Company Description:

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, through the Varnish! Michigan program can supply free fluoride varnish for medical providers to use in their practices. As you may know, tooth decay is the most common chronic disease of childhood but by performing a caries risk assessment, providing anticipatory guidance and applying fluoride varnish as soon as the primary teeth erupt, some of the Early Childhood Caries (ECC) process can be prevented. Medicaid reimburses medical providers for providing oral screenings and applying fluoride varnish to their 0-5 age child patients. Physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants are recognized Medicaid billable medical providers for these two oral health services. In addition, the oral health program can provide training and education in many oral health related topics including perinatal, infant and school based oral health.
